Van Camp has been named the director of the Governor’s Office
of Economic Development, an office of the Department of
Tourism and State Development. The announcement was made by
Jim Hagen, secretary, Department of Tourism and State
Development on Wednesday, June 16, 2004.
Van Camp has been with the
economic development office since 1995 and has served as the
Director of Finance for the last five years. “Tina has done a
tremendous job as director of our finance division,” Hagen
said. “She has an in depth understanding of our finance
programs and a proven track record of putting together deals
that have positively impacted the state’s economy,” he said.
Hagen said Van Camp’s
experience with the office will be a real asset so she can hit
the ground running in her new position. “Tina already has
strong relationships with economic development leaders across
the state. That will be extremely beneficial as she helps move
the state’s 2010 Initiative and the goals of this office
forward,” Hagen added.
“Tina is one of the hardest
working people I know,” Hagen said. “She brings a level of
energy and enthusiasm to this office that is truly contagious.
Her knowledge in the area of finance, coupled with her ability
to get things done, make her the ideal person for this
position,” he concluded.
